MAGNIFICENT LABOR!!!
After 6 months of prepping for Magnificent Flowers mini exhibit, the work is emerging from it's winter growth! Above is the Hellebore/Heuchera piece I am currently finishing up. This work is more intense than any I have attempted so far. And the hilarious part, is nature just creates it in moments! INSPIRATIONS I am very excited to have the opportunity to create works like this. Some of my biggest inspirations are: *Flowers....of course! *Lucy Hunter, The Flower Hunter and her arrangements *Iana, and her floral arrangement and flowers (that I buy for the studio!) at FLeurae *Vladimir Kanesky, premier porcelain flower artist! I am racing to complete three large full size Arrangements and 5 smaller 'plant style' works. I have also made various 'Talismans'. What I call the little affordable works I make to accompany my larger works; so anyone can support the studio in a purchase and take some of the magic home! A LITTLE STORY The other day I was telling a friend how much laborious detail is in each piece, especially the Rugosa rose with over 500 pieces and only half done....She said 'why don't you make something easier?' Well she just doesn't know my history of being a production artist for years...having to make one thing after another fast and affordable to just make morgage payments. Nowadays, I love the crazy elaborate construction I go thru to complete each Art Piece. I am in the golden years of being an artist. I can afford to take time now to create very complex works. And yes expensive too. I feel decadent and wealthy despite my humble surroundings. Come to the mini exhibit April 24, 5-10pm & 25, 12-5pm at Fleurae for 2026 OLYMPIA SPRING ARTWALK. Or view the finished works after these dates on my website gallery page 'Magnifiques Fleurs'. Thanks for your support! Loralin PS Why the french names? Because other languages-and their cultures- and their dedication to the arts- and a beautiful life- seem exotic and flowing to me. But also, I just can....Fiori Magnifici!!!.
