Floral Sculpture
New work coing out of the studio features floral sculptures of copper and Porcelain.
Each piece takes months to produce and is inspired by the wild beauty of the garden and nature itself.
Buds and blooms are sculptured from porcelain and china painted in layers fired in. Foliage is cut, formed and braised from copper then painted. They look fragile and transcluscent but are surprisingly sturdy.
I add insects like butterflies, native bees, yellow jackets, flies, cocoons and caterpillars which give even more life and whimsy to the arrangement.
More pieces are on their way.
